Episode 185
Dorothy Done -- Animal Activist -- The podcast recorded in 1991 and SB-252 Toxicological testing on dogs and cats finally passed in mid 2021.
1991 Timeless Voyager Radio interview with Animal Rights Activist, Dorothy Done and Host, Bruce Stephen Holms. “This is not usually the kind of topic that Timeless Voyager Radio covers, however since the program is about raising the level of consciousness of the listeners, I believe that people need to understand how horrendous these animal testing procedures are”, so says Bruce.
Dorothy explains in detail what the procedures are and how they lead to the deaths of innocent animals during 16 weeks of “what amounts to torture”. The situation crosses over to many animals used for food consumption, dairy, fishing, and much more.
During the program Dorothy Done, who co-authored what is now Assembly Bill 2461 and helped organize the demonstration, saw more than 50 protesters arrive at Procter & Gamble’s Oxnard plant in Ventura, CA — “For even a different shade of mascara, there is a whole battery of tests done.” For cosmetics and Procter & Gamble’s household products such as Comet, Oil of Olay, Tide and Cascade animal rights advocates believe that alternative testing methods should be used.
Unbelievable: The podcast you are listening to now was recorded in 1991 and SB-252 Toxicological testing on dogs and cats finally passed in mid 2021.
